What will I learn…
In Residential Building Technology you’ll learn how to build a home from the ground up, literally. As a student, you’ll construct a home from foundation to finish, gaining hands-on experience and skills that will last a lifetime. Each house is built to meet the needs of today’s evolving housing market and exceeds Vermont’s rigorous energy efficient standards. Students work with the latest tools and materials with a strong focus on safety and proper building techniques.

What’s Next?
Employment in the Field
Students completing this program and who are interested in pursuing a career in the field may enter the workforce or pursue postsecondary education and training. Some students may enroll in licensed apprenticeship courses of study for electricians and plumbers accredited through the Vermont Department of Labor.

Dual Enrollment
Eligible students may take up to one college course per semester. These courses are offered through University of Vermont and the Community College of Vermont (CCV).
Career Work Experiences
Work-based learning, school to work cooperative opportunities and apprenticeship for students are available with many of CTE’s local partnering businesses such as: Building Energy, Lewis Creek Builders, PC Construction, Vermont Construction, Pella Windows & Doors, S.D. Ireland, Tree House Hardwoods & Millshop, and Sorrell Construction.
